Moroccan hanbel boucherouite rug handmade in the Atlas mountains in Morocco.
Since the 50s nomadism began to disappear and the production of wool in the mountains became much reduced. That’s why women started to use recycled synthetic materials such as scraps of cotton, nylon, and sometimes wool to knit this beautiful boucherouite rugs.

This unique piece is hand knotted by women in bright colors and patterns creating a beautiful mixture of traditional Berber symbols giving an exotic accent of Morocco to your indoor or outdoor décor.

Vintages pieces in good conditions like this stunning rug are really difficult to find and that’s why I personally hand pick each piece to offer you the finest quality.

Desde los años 50 el nomadismo comenzó a desaparecer y con ello, la producción de lana disminuyó drásticamente. Fue entonces cuando las mujeres de las montañas comenzaron a utilizar materiales reciclados como retales de algodón para tejer sus alfombras boucherouite. En cada pieza mezclan símbolos tradicionales bereber con motivos más modernos y en colores vivos. El material utilizado es algodón natural.
